What is non-inductive resistors

As the name suggests, non-inductive resistance means non-inductive value. Of course, non-inductive resistance here means that the inductive reactance value on the resistor is very small and can be ignored. Generally, it cannot be said to be completely non-existent. Some precision instrumentation equipment and electronic industrial equipment often need to use this kind of non-inductive resistor, because ordinary resistors with high inductive reactance are prone to vibration during use and damage other devices in the circuit.

The role and application fields of non-inductive resistors

Non-inductive resistors only need the resistance on the wire or coil to work, and there should be no inductance or voltage generated by induction. The common non-inductive resistor is to use two insulated wires together, the terminals are short-circuited, and the first end is connected to an external power supply and application circuit. The current direction of the two insulated wires is opposite, there is no external mutual inductance, and it can be wound into a coil and used only as a resistor. For example, a non-inductive resistor is buried in the stator slot of a large AC motor for temperature measurement.

1) Prevent parasitic oscillation in high and medium frequency induction heating equipment

(2) Make a dummy load in the radio and television transmitting equipment

(3) In CNC machine tools and wire cutting equipment, where resistance is required to have no inductive reactance

Selection of non-inductive resistors

The selection always requires the most suitable one. Since what we want is non-inductive, the most important thing is the inductive reactance, as well as the consistency and stability of the product. At the same time, when a non-inductive resistor is used as a load, a large amount of heat is generated. Good heat dissipation is an important parameter. If the product has a high volume requirement, it is not suitable for a large volume such as a wire-wound resistor.

Sampling resistors are non-inductive resistors

Sampling resistors are generally divided into plug-in resistors and chip resistors according to the requirements of specific circuit boards. Sampling resistors have low resistance and high precision. Generally, the precision of the resistance is within ±1%. For more demanding applications, resistors with 0.01% precision will be used. Most of the plug-in resistors produced by domestic factories are made of constantan and manganese copper. However, the majority of users need more high-precision chip resistors to realize the sampling function. This is to meet the needs of miniaturized product production. automation requirements. There are not many manufacturers that can produce resistors that meet user requirements in terms of low temperature coefficient, high precision, and ultra-low resistance.

Generally, the resistance value of the sampling resistor will be selected below 1 ohm, which is a milliohm-level non-inductive resistor. However, some resistors have a sampling voltage and other requirements, so a large resistance must be selected, but such a large resistance base will result in large errors. In this case, it is necessary to choose a high-precision non-inductive resistor (up to 0.01% accuracy, that is, one ten-thousandth accuracy), so that the sampled data can be very reliable. SMD ultra-low resistance resistors (0.0005 ohms, 2 milliohms, 3 milliohms, 10 milliohms, etc.), chip alloy resistors, high-power resistors (20W, 30W, 35W, 50W, 100W) and other products, the temperature coefficient can be Reach plus or minus 5PPM.
